GIFT OF LIFE $10,000 DONATION

BEAUMONT - (October 23, 2008) - On Thursday, October 23, 2008, at 10:00am, at the Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Institute, located at 3555 Stagg Drive, Beaumont, Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital, in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, will present the Julie Rogers "Gift of Life" Program with a check in the amount of $10,000.00.

Since 1994, Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospitals have been honored to be affiliated with an organization that has been instrumental in addressing the breast and prostate cancer needs of those who are medically underserved. From education and free screenings to access to cancer treatments, the "Gift of Life" has been dedicated to meeting the cancer needs of Southeast Texas. Partnered with the Charline & Sidney "Chief" Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center, a department of the Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Institute at Baptist Hospitals this collaborative effort has made mammography services available to women who have needed the examination but were unable to obtain the procedure due to financial limitations or other constraints. Since its inception, over 13,500 free mammograms have been provided to women in Southeast Texas.
