The Dauphin Center at Baptist Beaumont Hospital Partners with Kroger to Help Save Lives

Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital - Thursday, November 13, 2008
"Music, Munchies, Manicures and Mammograms" is the latest endeavor by Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospitals to make sure women over the age of 40 have their annual mammograms. This project designed by the Charline & Sidney "Chief" Dauphin Cancer Screening & Prevention Center, a department of the Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Institute at Baptist Hospitals, is getting the party started with our great friends at Kroger.

"Music, Munchies, Manicures and Mammograms" is a series of private mammography parties created to accommodate up to eight women after business hours in the comfortable spa-like atmosphere of the Dauphin Center. Simply gather a group of girlfriends together for a Ladies Night Out. On Thursday, November 13, 2008, at 5:30pm, at the Dauphin Center located at 740 Hospital Drive, Suite #140, we will welcome our first guests from the local Kroger stores. These lucky ladies will be wrapped in warm robes, pampered with massages and manicures and receive life-saving mammograms performed at the Dauphin Center.

According to Gay Lynne Jones, RN, Director of the Julie & Ben Rogers Cancer Institute at Baptist Hospitals, "the sooner cancer is diagnosed and treated, the better a person's chances are for a cure. Partnered with the support of good friends close by, it is easier for a woman to have this procedure done. We want to make it easy and convenient for women to come in and have a life-saving mammogram. People are often frightened to take the first step but we are hoping by inviting a group of friends to do this together, we can touch the life of someone who would not otherwise feel comfortable coming in alone."

To be Queen for an Evening – round up seven of your closest friends and call (409) 212-7950 to schedule an evening of pampering, music, manicures and mammograms in a private comfortable setting. The Dauphin Center offers women in Southeast Texas access to the finest technology with the first digital mammography system. Along with breast cancer screening, the Dauphin Center also offers genetic counseling and testing, nutritional counseling, tobacco cessation and community education programs.

Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas has been serving the community for almost 60 years. Our health care system is dedicated to providing quality health services in a Christian environment in order to improve the health care of people of Southeast Texas.
